• Consultation

• Wairau Community Clinic provides regular medical consultations with a GP to patients registered with the practice. Our consultations are booked at 15 minute intervals, so if you have more than 2 items to discuss with the GP, please ring the practice to book a double appointment.
  

• Acute Care

• If you or a family member is unwell or injured and needing to be seen on the day, please phone our practice nurses immediately for them to assess whether an urgent appointment is appropriate - 03 579 3626.
  

• ACC Consultation

• Wairau Community Clinic provides ACC consultations for minor injuries and workplace injuries. We also provide followup dressing changes for our patients that have been seen by another provider (e.g. Marlborough Urgent Care, the Emergency Department or an out of town hospital or practice). 
  

• Immunisation

• Scheduled childhood and adult immunisations are provided by our fabulous nurses.
  

• Flu Vaccination Clinics

• The seasonal influenza vaccination usually arrives in April. Please book an appointment with one of our nurses for this service.
  

• After Hours Care

• The Marlborough Urgent Care Centre is open 7 days 8am-8pm including public holidays. No appointment is necessary. The Urgent Care Centre is located on site at Wairau Hospital. Phone 03 520 6377.
  

• Diabetes

• Our aim is to help patients and family members with self management of their diabetes through support and education. Our nurses provide annual diabetic reviews.
  

• Sporting Injuries

• Full assessment and treatment is available for sports injuries.
  

• Mental Health

• Wairau Community Clinic is committed to providing our patients with support for their mental health. The clinic participates in the Primary Mental Health Initiative run by Kimi Hauora Wairau Marlborough Primary Health.
  

• Asthma

• Support and education are large features of helping patients self-manage their asthma either with our nurses or the Community Asthma Nurses. For acute presentations of asthma please ring our nurses immediately for advice or call 111 if it is an emergency.
   

• Dietary Advice

• Our nurses can offer you advice and support in the areas of weight management, cholesterol control and lifestyle advice. Our nursing team offer comprehensive Cardiovascular Risk Assessments.
  

• Family Planning

• Wairau Community Clinic offers a comprehensive family planning service including oral contraception, pregnancy testing, STI and fertility advice.
  

• Smoking Cessation

• Our nurses offer a free smoking cessation programme when patients are ready to have a change in lifestyle. They offer ongoing support and encouragement to help patients achieve their goals.
  

• Skin Checks

• Dr Cameron takes special interest in checking for and removal of melanoma or other skin lesions. Cryotherapy is available every 2nd Wednesday for the treatment of warts and other skin lesions. Please note that a consult with the doctor is required prior to cryotherapy with our nurses.
  

• Well Women Checks

• Our GP & Practice Nurse team offers a comprehensive check including cervical smears, pelvic examination, breast examination and referral for mammography, blood tests and general health checks.
  

• Well Man Checks

• Offered to all men to help optimise your health and manage any condition you may have. These are available from your GP and Practice Nurse by specific arrangement.
  

• Travel Vaccinations

• Wairau Community Clinic provides travel vaccinations to our patients. Please book an appointment with a GP to discuss the vaccination requirements for your holiday destination. NB: please allow at least a month before your departure for vaccination.
