About Us

Hamilton
, adjacent to the residential suburbs of Melville and Frankton. Amenities within walking distance are the
Waikato
Public
Hospital
and the recreational area including and surrounding Hamilton (Rotoroa)
Lake
.
South City Health has approximately 7,500 enrolled patients. Its facilities in
Kahikatea Drive
are spacious and well-maintained and there is ample off-street parking. The medical centre forms the major part of a complex incorporating a Pharmacy, Dentist, Beauty Clinic and Counsellors. Clinic hours are 8am to 5pm with after-hours service being provided at Anglesea Clinic, in central
Hamilton
.
Our clinic
was set up to provide a comprehensive, family-based primary health care service to its registered community. Health screening and promotion are priorities as a major aim is to work in partnership with our patients to prevent disease, reduce disability and to maintain their health. Acute medical care is also provided. We work with the local business community to provide pre-employment and continuing employment health checks, minor accident and vaccination services for workers. We provide a local phlebotomy agency.
South City Health was a new family practice established in purpose-built premises in 1998. It was an amalgamation of the existing practices of 4 GPs, 3 of whom had known each other since medical school, and a younger GP. There are now 5 partners, 3part-time associates, and 2 part-time employed doctors. We also have 6 practice nurses (some of whom job share), one practice manager, and 4 receptionists.
