Born and bred in Levin and a graduate of Otago Medical School, Alister is a long time resident of Upper Hutt. Having worked for over 40 years in the area Alister is a familiar part of many local families. A keen cyclist Alister has competed in most of the Karapoti Classics, an annual mountain biking event in the nearby Akatarawa forest. Photography, films and live theatre are among the pastimes Alister enjoys along with spending time with his family and grandchildren.
