Born in Indonesia, I came to NZ at 16 straight after completing high school with the goal of studying medicine at Otago University. I was fortunate to have some connection to the South Island in that my oldest sister had the good sense to marry a Cantabrian Kiwi and I wanted to be close to her and his family. General practice attracted me because I enjoy patients' stories and the continuity of care it offered. I like the variety and the support that one gets in a smaller workplace as opposed to big hospitals. Outside of medicine I enjoy travelling, watching movies, socialising with my friends and see myself staying in Dunedin in the future -- although my mom in Solo, a small city in Central Java, would like me home
