Dr Kathir Sinnathamby studied medicine in Colomba, Sri Lanka and was trained as an oncologist in Sri Lanka. He moved to New Zealand in 1996. After completing the New Zealand qualifying examination for foreign doctors, he started working as a GP at a rural practice. He then joined The Doctors New Lynn in 2003.
