Melanie was born in Manila, and graduated from the FEU NRMF Institute of Medicne in Quezon city in 1988. She did 2 years post graduate internship, 1 year as GP in Manila then two years as cardiology registrar in King Fahd hospital in Jeddah, KSA. After that 8 years in Fiji as senior medical registar before coming to NZ . Rotations in Wellington, Wairarapa, and HVH before doing GP training here. Post graduate degree completed 2006 from University of Otago. Melanie lives locally with her family and in her spare time enjoys art and travel.
